Turnitin Assignment Submission

This is the process for submitting an assignment to Turnitin for plagiarism detection. Turnitin measures the originality of the contents of the assignment and indicates what percent of the assignment matches internet sources.

You can submit your assignment as a text entry or upload any supported file type: Text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx), Microsoft Power Point (.ppt/.pptx), Postscript (.ps), Portable Document Format (.pdf), Rich Text Format (.rtf), HyperText Markup Language (.html), WordPerfect (.wp), Hangul (.hwp), or Open Office (.odt/.ods/.odp). You can also upload an assignment from Google Drive or Dropbox.

The first time you upload an assignment to Turnitin, you'll have to agree to the user agreement.

Access the assignment page and click on Submit Assignment

Then, choose how you will submit the assignment by clicking on the appropriate tab

The tab options may be different, depending on what settings your instructor selected.

Use the applicable assignment submission type:

  1. To upload a file:

    Turnitin LTI submission details

    1. Click on the File Upload tab
    2. Click the Choose File button
    3. Review the End User License Agreement
    4. Check the box to certify the work as your own
    5. Click Submit Assignment

  2. To type your submission:

    1. Click on the Text Entry tab
    2. Type your submission
    3. Review the End User License Agreement
    4. Check the box to certify the work as your own
    5. Click Submit Assignment
